Terms of sale

These terms apply to purchases from VanGotThis via this website. Buying a piece means you accept them. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a UK/EU consumer.

The artwork

  • Every piece is a handmade, one-of-a-kind original. Photographs are as faithful as possible, but small variations in colour and texture are inherent to handmade work.
  • Each purchase includes a certificate of authenticity, emailed to you and anchored on the Bitcoin blockchain via OpenTimestamps. The certificate relates to the physical piece; copyright in the artwork remains with the artist.

Prices and payment

  • Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). Payment is taken securely by Stripe at checkout; we never handle your card details. Your bank statement will show the artist's trading name.
  • Because each piece is unique, it is sold to the first completed checkout. If a payment fails or a checkout expires, the piece returns to sale automatically.

Delivery

Shipping is arranged personally after purchase — the artist will contact you by email within 3 working days to confirm the delivery method, cost (if not included) and timeframe for your address. Pieces are packed carefully; please report any damage in transit within 48 hours of delivery, with photos, and we will put it right.

Returns, cancellations and refunds

  • Ready-made pieces: under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations you may cancel within 14 days of receiving the piece, for any reason. Tell us in writing within that window, then return the piece unused and in its original condition within 14 days; you cover return postage. We refund the full price within 14 days of receiving the piece back.
  • Commissioned pieces: works made to your specification are exempt from the 14-day cancellation right once work has begun. Commission terms, deposits and timelines are agreed by email before any work starts.
  • Faulty items: statutory rights apply — a piece that arrives damaged or not as described will be refunded or remedied at no cost to you.
